Our Green Home

At Annex Garden, we want our guests to enjoy a safe and comfortable environment and know that we make conscious decisions wherever possible on how we are doing business today to impact the world tomorrow.

During the home’s transformation, we were committed to preserving the property’s heritage and using environmentally friendly and “green” materials and products in our renovation and restoration work wherever possible. The original woodwork and floors were refinished with water-based products, low or no VOC paints were used throughout the home, and where laid wool carpets or area rugs were selected.

We make every effort to use eco-friendly cleaning products in our guest rooms and suites.

Our Heat Recovery Ventilation System brings in fresh air from outdoors, filters it and circulates it throughout the home. This system produces frequent air changes so you won’t need to open windows to breathe fresh air.

Our smoke-free property provides our guests with clean air, both indoors and out. Our veranda, balconies, yard and paths are all smoke-free for your enjoyment.

The home has been fully rewired to accommodate modern technology and appliances. Our four fireplaces have been converted to direct vent gas, but retain their original Victorian charm.

Filtered water is used in our cooking and beverage service. We serve organic eggs and use other organic products whenever feasible. Learn more about our menu service
